Restoring The King

Restoring The King is a platform created to support Black men on their mental and emotional journeys. We set to heal, evolve, and transcend the emotional and mental intelligence of Black men.

Black men should be part of the wider wellness conversation, and Restoring the King provides Black men with the tools to tackle the big conversation, starting with taking ownership of their mental and emotional health. Societal stigmas and taboos encourage Black men to live unconsciously with mental health problems leading men to turn away from seeking supportive services.

Our platform provides the resources, tools, and community to uniquely position Black men to understand better their own mental health and how this affects their personal and professional lives.

Testimonials

What was it like for you before you started the program?

Life felt out of control. Every day was filled with anxiety, overthinking, and this overwhelming feeling of being trapped in a vicious, negative cycle to be perfect. – Anonymous

How do you feel as a result of Coaching?

Before the 6 week program, I felt lost and unsure of what to do. I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t have a safe space and the tools to deal with stress, grief, and anxiety in a healthy way. I worked with Nia and now I feel more secure in myself. I am still on the journey of processing and healing from my trauma, but I now know a new freedom, love, and acceptance of myself and others. – Jonathan Sims

If you were to review what you’ve learned so far and write your own SUCCESS STORY, what would it say?

I actually came to Restoring the King because I felt it would allow me to become a better partner in my relationship … which it actually did but not in the way I was expecting. As a result of the coaching, I became for the 1st time (in a long time) a better and honest partner for myself. I finally developed some courage to look at myself, situation, and take ownership fully by saying I need to work on things in myself that require me to remove myself from this relationship so that I can focus on healing the relationship with myself. I really needed that. It’s still scary and raw because I don’t know where I’m going but I do deep down feel this is the right direction for me. – Justin Oliver

What would you tell someone else who would consider using my services?

Take the jump. Go against the stigma that men of color don’t need therapy. Come face to face with the demons that you’re fighting and know that you are in good hands. – Jonathan Sims
